Therapy for Trauma Relief and Self-Compassion
A Trauma-Informed & Body-Oriented Approach
I use trauma-informed and body-oriented approaches like Polyvagal theory, mindfulness, breathwork and EMDR to strengthen your sense of safety and connection, link your thoughts and emotions to a felt sense in your body, and listen to your intuition.
At a pace that works best for you we’ll acknowledge the roles that your body and mind play in holding onto and processing oppressive beliefs, systems and events.
My therapeutic style is active, engaged and heavily indebted to intersectionality and anti-oppression movements. My services are body liberating, LGBTQ+ affirming, and informed by Health at Every Size (HAES). I listen deeply, ask questions, and gently challenge you to become aware of beliefs, relationships and patterns that may be contributing to what’s bringing you to therapy.
My Clients
My clients benefit from consistent, longterm therapy exploring the effects of internalized oppressive beliefs, complex trauma, and historic relational patterns. I work primarily with motivated adult LGBTQ+ individuals, couples and women who want to better understand and process the effects of:
childhood neglect or abuse
abusive or problematic relationships
societal oppression and marginalization including, but not limited to, anti fatness, ableism, transphobia, homophobia, sexism and racism
compounding stress
chronic pain or illness
loss and grief
